Creamy Chocolate and Caramel Easter Dessert

  • by

Place the chocolate cookies in a food processor and crush them into fine crumbs.

Add the melted butter and pulse until the mixture resembles wet sand.

Press the cookie mixture firmly into the bottom of a large glass baking dish or dessert dish. Use the back of a spoon or the bottom of a glass to create an even layer.

Place the dish in the refrigerator while preparing the first cream layer.

Step 2: Prepare the Gelatin

Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over ¼ cup of cold water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.

Warm it gently until completely dissolved. Do not boil the gelatin.

Set it aside to cool slightly.

Step 3: Make the White Cream Layer

Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.

Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract and mix until creamy.

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.

Add the dissolved gelatin and mix gently until everything is well combined.

Pour the white cream over the chilled cookie base and smooth the surface.

Refrigerate for approximately 45–60 minutes, or until the layer is firm enough to support the next layer.

Step 4: Prepare the Chocolate Cream

Melt the chocolate gently in the microwave in short intervals or over a double boiler. Stir until completely smooth and allow it to cool slightly.

Whip the remaining heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.

Slowly fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until you have a smooth, light chocolate mousse.

Do not mix too aggressively, or you may lose the airy texture.

Step 5: Add the Chocolate Layer

Carefully spoon the chocolate mixture over the chilled white layer.

Spread it evenly with a spatula.

Place the dessert back into the refrigerator while you prepare the caramel topping.

Step 6: Add the Caramel

Warm the dulce de leche or thick caramel sauce very slightly if it is too firm to spread.

Spoon it into the center of the chocolate layer and gently spread it into a smooth oval or circle.

You can leave a border around the caramel so the beautiful chocolate layer remains visible.

Step 7: Decorate

Sprinkle crushed chocolate cookies and chopped nuts around the caramel center.

For an extra-special Easter presentation, add chocolate shavings, mini chocolate eggs, colorful sprinkles, or small Easter candies around the top.

The combination of dark cookie crumbs, creamy white filling, chocolate mousse, golden caramel, and crunchy toppings creates the beautiful layered appearance shown in the photo.

Step 8: Chill

Cover the dessert and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

For the best texture, let it chill overnight. This gives the layers enough time to set properly and makes serving much easier.

Step 9: Serve

When you’re ready to serve, use a large spoon or sharp knife to cut through all the layers.

Make sure each serving includes some of the crunchy cookie base, creamy vanilla layer, chocolate mousse, and caramel topping.

Serve chilled and enjoy.

This Easter dessert is creamy, chocolatey, crunchy, and wonderfully indulgent. It can be prepared a day ahead, which makes it especially convenient when you’re planning an Easter dinner or family celebration. The beautiful layers also make it look like you spent hours in the kitchen—even though the preparation is surprisingly simple. 🐰🍫🍮
