Wash the tomatoes thoroughly under running water.
Remove the stems and cut the tomatoes into small pieces.
Step 2: Blend
Place the tomatoes and water in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Step 3: Add the Lemon and Herbs
Add the lemon juice, parsley or mint, and a small pinch of black pepper.
Blend for another few seconds.
Step 4: Drink Fresh
Pour the mixture into a glass and enjoy it immediately.
There is generally no need to add sugar. If you prefer a thicker drink, use less water.
Why Tomatoes Are Worth Including
Tomatoes contain lycopene, and research has investigated the relationship between tomato consumption and cardiovascular health. They also provide potassium and vitamin C, while whole tomatoes provide dietary fiber.
For the greatest overall benefit, don’t rely on tomato juice alone. Include tomatoes regularly alongside vegetables, fruits, beans, whole grains, fish, nuts, and other minimally processed foods.
What About Cholesterol?
A healthy diet can contribute to maintaining healthier cholesterol levels, but there is no drink that can guarantee that cholesterol will fall to zero.
If your cholesterol is elevated, your healthcare professional may recommend dietary changes, exercise, weight management, or medication depending on your individual cardiovascular risk.
Do not stop prescribed cholesterol medication because you have started drinking tomato juice.
What About Joint Pain?
Tomatoes can be part of an overall nutritious eating pattern, but they are not a cure for arthritis or joint inflammation.
Persistent joint pain can have many causes, including osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, injuries, and other conditions. If a joint is persistently swollen, hot, red, or severely painful, it should be medically evaluated.
A Better Three-Day Routine
Rather than expecting a miracle from one drink, use the three days as an opportunity to improve your overall diet:
Morning: Tomato and vegetable drink without added sugar.
Lunch: Beans or fish with a large vegetable salad.
Snack: Fruit and a small portion of unsalted nuts.
Dinner: Vegetables with eggs, fish, chicken, or another protein source.
Throughout the day: Water instead of sugary drinks.
The real benefit comes from consistent healthy habits rather than a three-day cleanse. Tomatoes are an excellent food to include, but they work best as part of a balanced diet rather than as a replacement for medical treatment.
