Bacon and Tomato Sandwiches

  • by

Step 1: Cook the bacon
Place the bacon in a skillet over medium heat. Cook for 4–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Step 2: Toast the bread
Toast the bread slices until lightly golden and crisp around the edges. For extra flavor, spread a thin layer of butter on the bread before toasting.

Step 3: Prepare the tomatoes
Slice the tomatoes into medium-thick slices. Lightly season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 4: Add the mayonnaise
Spread mayonnaise generously over one side of each toasted bread slice.

Step 5: Build the sandwich
Place lettuce on the bottom slice, followed by several tomato slices. Add the crispy bacon on top.

Step 6: Finish the sandwich
Season with another small pinch of black pepper if desired, then place the second slice of toasted bread on top.

Step 7: Slice and serve
Gently press the sandwich together and cut it in half diagonally. Serve immediately while the bacon is still crisp.

⭐ Pro Tip

For the best sandwich, use ripe but firm tomatoes and drain them briefly on a paper towel before assembling. This keeps the bread from becoming soggy while preserving that juicy tomato flavor.

Crispy bacon + juicy tomatoes + creamy mayo = a classic you never get tired of! 🥓🍅🥪
