Apple Cider Vinegar on an Empty Stomach: What It Can and Cannot Do

  • by

Apple cider vinegar has become a popular ingredient in natural wellness routines. It contains acetic acid and can be used in small amounts as part of a balanced diet. Some research has explored its effects on blood glucose and appetite, but it is not a proven treatment for poor circulation, fatty liver disease, parasites, high blood pressure, obesity, or joint inflammation.

There is also no requirement to drink it on an empty stomach. For some people, doing so can cause heartburn, nausea, or stomach irritation.

If you enjoy apple cider vinegar, a diluted drink is a safer approach than consuming it straight.
