Claims about a mysterious plant that supposedly makes cataracts disappear within three days are spreading rapidly online, but there is no reliable evidence that any plant, tea, juice, or homemade remedy can dissolve cataracts or restore cloudy vision overnight. Cataracts develop when the natural lens inside the eye becomes cloudy, most commonly as part of aging, and they cannot be removed simply by changing what you eat or drink.
That does not mean leafy plants and vegetables are unimportant for eye health. Many dark green vegetables provide nutrients and antioxidants that contribute to normal eye function. Eating a varied diet containing leafy greens, colorful vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, seeds, and fish can support overall nutrition and long-term eye health.
However, preventing or supporting eye health is very different from reversing an established cataract. A person may notice changes in vision for many reasons, including cataracts, dry eye, refractive errors, glaucoma, retinal disease, or other eye conditions. Assuming that blurry or cloudy vision is simply a nutritional deficiency can delay proper diagnosis.
Common cataract symptoms include cloudy or blurry vision, difficulty seeing at night, increased sensitivity to glare, halos around lights, faded colors, and frequent changes in glasses prescriptions. These symptoms can gradually become more noticeable and may interfere with reading, driving, or everyday activities.
When cataracts begin affecting daily life, an eye examination can determine whether they are actually responsible for the vision changes. In the early stages, brighter lighting, updated prescription glasses, and other practical adjustments may help. When a cataract significantly interferes with vision, cataract surgery is the established treatment. During the procedure, the cloudy natural lens is removed and replaced with an artificial lens.
It is especially important not to put homemade plant juices, herbal extracts, or crushed leaves directly into the eyes. Even natural substances can contain contaminants or compounds that irritate or damage delicate eye tissues. The fact that something is edible does not mean it is safe to use as an eye drop.
A healthy diet remains valuable, but it should be viewed as part of long-term eye care rather than a replacement for an eye examination. Protecting the eyes from excessive ultraviolet exposure, managing conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, avoiding smoking, maintaining a balanced diet, and receiving regular eye examinations can all contribute to better vision health.
If vision suddenly becomes cloudy, especially if it occurs with severe eye pain, flashes of light, a sudden increase in floaters, a curtain-like shadow, or sudden loss of vision, urgent medical attention is important.
There is no credible shortcut that can make an established cataract disappear in three days. A nutritious plant-based diet can support the body and eyes, but persistent cloudy vision deserves a proper eye examination and, when necessary, evidence-based cataract treatment rather than an unproven miracle remedy.
